Prince George’s County is responsible for removal of snow on the roads. The Association is responsible for snow removal on sidewalks in front of common area. Homeowners are responsible for snow removal of their sidewalks and driveways.

STREET LIGHT OUTAGES
Call SMECO at 1-888-440-3311 to file a report. The tag number on the pole and street cross sections may be required.
VANDALISM OR OTHER CRIMINAL ACTIVITY
Please call the Police (for emergencies dial 911). The only way problems in the community can be addressed is if calls are logged in with the county. When a call is placed to 911, a log is generated. When the county receives a certain number of calls, they respond by placing more patrol cars in the area. Some of these patrols are in unmarked cars and plain clothes. Please consider contacting 911 whenever you see vandalism or other criminal activity in or about Horizon Estates HOA. Horizon Estates liaison officer is PFC. S. Phillips #3194. TRASH AND RECYCLING
Trash and recycling services are provided by Prince George’s County. Trash pickup is on Tuesday and Friday. Trash should be placed in trash cans or proper containers and not plastic bags. Please place trash cans on the curb of your home no earlier than 5:00 pm on the day prior to trash pickup and remove them no later than 7:00pm the evening of trash pickup. Trash cans should not be stored in the front or side of the house. Please do not place trash cans in front of mailboxes. If your mailbox is blocked, mail carriers have been instructed not to deliver mail.
Recycling bins will be collected on Wednesday. Use a recycle bin available through Prince George’s County. Yard waste is collected on Wednesdays and should be put in a bag or container and marked with an “X”.
If you have bulk items, it is the responsibility of the homeowner or resident to call the Prince George’s County at 301-952-7600 to schedule for a pickup or take your item to Prince George’s County landfill drop off.

For refuse, recycling and yard waste collection, please contact 301-856-3130.
In accordance with our documents and Prince George’s County law, dogs and cats must be leashed at all times. Those in violation of the Animal Control Laws may be subject to fines of not less than $50 and up to $500. It is the responsibility of each pet owner to clean up after their pet. Pet waste stations have been provided throughout the community for your convenience.

RENTING YOUR HOME
If you plan to rent your home, you are obligated to provide the tenants with a written lease Agreement which indicates that the tenant must conform to the Covenants, By-Laws and other documents of the Association.
Please provide the management company with written notice containing the following information: term of lease plus names of the tenant with contact information; forwarding address and contact information for you the owner. Information may be e-mailed to the community manager.
Landlords, please emphasize upon your tenants the need to abide by the community documents. Ultimately, the maintenance of your home and the behavior of your tenants is the owner’s legal responsibility.
FRONT FOOT ASSESSMENT
Homeowners owe an annual front foot assessment of $725.00 due by April 15th of each year. If not paid by April 15th, the amount due plus late fee is then $942.50. The assessment is paid to the following:
